Actually, yes. When you hurt an animal such as a dog, it will yelp in agony. In regards to pain, animals feel it just as humans. Yes, animals think. For instance when an animals attacks you, it had to think why of why it needed to go and ambush you, whether it was out of fear or just annoyance.
