If you are looking for the value of y, then I think you may be looking for the following: 2(+y) = 7 In algebra parenthesis means multiplication +2y = 7 If we want to find y, we must divide both sides by 2 y = 7/2 The answer is 7/2! Is this what you needed? Do you need the fraction simplified?
