If you are looking for the value of y, then I think you may be looking for the following:
2(+y) = 7 In algebra parenthesis also mean multiplication
+2y = 7 If we want to find y, we must divide both sides by 2
y = 7/2 The answer is 7/2!
Is this what you needed. Do you need the fraction simplified?

30 = -45y
30/-45 = -45y/-45

OR
y = -2/3
