What causes pimples and how can we prevent them?
Sometimes, dead skin cells and dirt can clog up our skin pores. When this happens, our skin oil gets trapped underneath the dirt blockage. As the trapped oil builds up, bacteria grow and multiply. This leads to infection and inflammation, and a red, raised bump on our skin. And that is what a "pimple" is. ----------- There's no way to completely prevent pimples, but we can reduce the amount of pimples we get by using facial cleansers to wash away some of the dirt and dead skin cells. We can also help ourselves by keeping our hands clean. The most noticeable pimples happen on the face. Many people touch their faces with their hands throughout the day, sometimes without even noticing. Dirt, dead skin cells, and bacteria can transfer from our hands, onto our face. So, it would help to wash our hands regularly.
Common acne (aka "acne vulgaris") is a skin condition characterized by what are often called pimples or zits. It can occur anywhere on the body and at any age, although it typically affects teenagers on the face and back. http://www.wikihow.com/Avoid-Acne
A pimple is a small pustule or papule. Pimples are small skin lesions or inflammations of the skin - they are sebaceous glands (oil glands) which are infected with bacteria, swell up, and then fill up with pus.
