a = a is an example of which algebraic property? A. Symmetric Property B. Transitive Property C. Reflexive Property D. Commutative Property of Multiplication

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we're talking about relations here, I guess the property is something that comes out of the definition. So we have a relation upon itself: \[\Large \forall a \in A: aRa \] where we have the relation of equality, thus: \[\Large \forall a \in A: a=a \] which is considered as reflexive.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

It is the reflexive property because the reflexive property of equality says that anything is equal to itself.
