no for circle you should have equel coefficient for x and y

The line x+y=4 intersects the ellipse in two points, x = 1, y = 3 and x = 6, y = -2. So, the solution would actually be just these two points. Just substitute y=4-x into the equation of the ellipse to get these solutions: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=7y^2%2Bx^2%3D64%2Cx%2By%3D4
