Help please:) In 2002, the Bookstore sold 1000 paperback books and 1500 hardback books. In 2003, the store sold 15% more paperback books and 5% more hardback books than sold in 2002. By what percent did the total number of books sold by the store increase from 2002 to 2003? 20% 60% 9% 15%

In 2002 a total of 2500 books were sold. In 2003 1150 paperbacks were sold (1000 + (1000 x 0.15)), and 1575 hardbacks were sold (1500 + (1500 x 0.05). The total for 2003 is 2725 books. The difference between the years in total is 225. The percentage increase is 9% ((225/2500) x 100). Hope this helps.
