-87+9x=x+81

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

put the coeficents with the x on one side and the constants in other, then solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

\[-87+9x=x+81\] to solve for x, we want the numbers with an x on one side of the equality and the constants on the other, let's do that: \[9x-x=81+87\] operating, we get: \[8x=168\] So let's isolate that x: \[x=\frac{ 168 }{ 8 }\] \[x=84\] And that's done :)

thank yo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9x-x=81+87 8x=168 x=21

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

oh god... Did I just write 84?... Guess I'm way to sleepy, thanks sara.
