how to expand a cubic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pascal's triange?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite, the equation is \[7(x-5)^3 -2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, I only know the bare minimum in that category :l I'm sorry I couldn't help mate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's okay, thanks for the thought though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay: \[ (x-5)^3=(x-5)(x-5)(x-5) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with: \[ (x-5)(x-5)=... \]Then do: \[ (...)(x-5) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can get that part, its just the prefixes of it (the 7) that's been throwing me off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get for the first part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply the 7 at the very end.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh right, Yup I got it. Thanks so much for the help!
