How was the Railroads important to settling in the West? Give 3 reasons and backup each reason. Medal will be rewarded for answer accurate and correct! :D
@jjedmkmv
ok well first off how did people and supplys get to the west before railroads?
People got supplies by ships, horse, walking, etc.
exactly so there is one reason for you :)
by adding railroads the government decreased the time it took to do that stuff by almost 300%
So was that another reason or backup evidence
I also belive it helped with the economy by allowing gold to be shipped across the country
because gold minning was a huge thing in the west at that time
@llkramer Can you label your reasons and your backup to those reasons?
Cause it'll help me out which ones are reasons and which one are backup evidence
Reason: Before the railroads people got their supplies by ships, horses, walking etc. Backup reason: By adding railroads the government decreased the time it took to do that stuff by almost 300%. Which helped the government to save money because they didn't have to pay the workers the same amount of money because it took less time to get the stuff there. Reason: I also belive it helped with the economy by allowing gold to be shipped across the country Backup reason: Gold minning was a huge thing in the West at that time. Railroads made it easier to transport the gold, which later could be used in trading and such. Reason: It helped people travel across the state-borders. Which also helped the economy because the trade opportunities became greater. Backup reason: Previously it would have taken many days or even weeks to reach from one side to another, which reduced business opportunities. Now it was much easier to travel. Umm... I'm not sure I did this right, but I think so. Hope it helped anyways.
