what is the graph of the absolute value equation? y=-2|x|+5 please help I really suck at this stuff so explanations would be nice to try and help me get a hang of it

OpenStudy (phi):

one way is try a few values for x when x is 0, what is y ? y = -2 * |0| + 5 first do the | | part, which does nothing to 0 (it would change a minus number to positive) y = -2 * 0 + 5 now do multiply , then add -2 times 0 is 0 y = 0 + 5 0 plus 5 is 5 we have the point (0,5) plot that point now try x= -1.. find the y and x=1... plot these points.
