The interior of a bowl is hemisperical (half a sphere). (1 liter = 1000 cu. cm.) If the radius is 20 centimeters, approximately how many liters of liquid will it hold?

OpenStudy (smileyxl3):

find the volume of the sphere... \[V = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3\] divide that volume in two because it's a bowl... use the fact 1cm^3 = 1mL divide by 1000 to get liters
