After completing 10 years of experimentation, a scientist reports a new scientific law about the movement of sand on beaches. How do you know that this information cannot be valid?

A new scientific law cannot be established on the basis of one scientist's work. Certainly his/her work may produce novel or surprising results that may warrant further investigation, but the results must be repeatable and be achieved by a variety of experiments conducted by other scientists.
