**MEDAL WILL BE AWARDED** Given the following graph, what is the approximate value of the function at x = 1?

I don't get it would it be 5?

OpenStudy (katherinesmith):

2 1 0 -1 those are my options

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its -1.. Why because the x-axis is the horizontal line in the middle and the y-axis is the vertical lines... and what its asking you is where does the x=1 touch the graph... So you go to where you see the center horizontal line is one. then move up or down to where the graph is touching that line of x=1.. And that is at -1

OpenStudy (katherinesmith):

okay, i see what you mean, i just thought it could be almost any of those answers, but now i understand why it is -1

OpenStudy (katherinesmith):

@Gerardo_cast23 do you know how to do this one? Write an appropriate direct variation equation if y = 45 when x = 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope sorry

OpenStudy (katherinesmith):

it's fine
