p-->q is false when??? p is true and q is false? both p and q are false? p is false and q is true?

OpenStudy (john_es):

If q is false, then p is false.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both of them are false then?

OpenStudy (john_es):

No, if p is false the q could be true or false (you can deduce false or true from false sentences). If p is true then q must be true (only true follow true). But if q is false, the p must be false. So I pick the first one.
