in this problem you know your accelartion, velocity final, and distance..and you are looking velocity intial which formula do you think you should use?
vf^2=vi^2+2ax..i beleive this formula would work out...plug in the values and solve for velocity intial
velocity final:0m/s velocity intial:? acceleration: 9.8 m/s^2 distance:170m
