ok, (2x+1)^3 is like saying (2x+1)(2x+1)(2x+1). do you get up to here?

ok and so use the foil method to do (2x+1)(2x+1) first

but theres a formula for (a+b)^3=a^3 + 3a^2b + 3ab^2 + b^3, if that will make it easier.

all you have to do is plug in a=2x and b=1 and solve.
