A farmer has 160 bushels of beans for sale at a farmer's market. He sells an average of 15 and 1/4 bushels each day. After 5 days, what is the change in the total number of bushels the farmer has for sale at the farmer's market?

OpenStudy (dobby1):

ok so you have to multiply 15 and 1/4 by 5 days what is product

OpenStudy (dobby1):

you could also right it as 15.25 * 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aww its 76.25

OpenStudy (dobby1):

YES. now you need to subtract that from his total number of bushels

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also it said to write a signed number representing the change in the total number of bushels the farmer has for sale

OpenStudy (dobby1):

look at my last post right above the one you just did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 83.75

OpenStudy (dobby1):

GREAT JOB. for not just asking for the answer and participating you get a medal

OpenStudy (dobby1):

The question is only asking for the change. The change each day is -15.25. The change after 5 days is -15.25 * 5 = -76.25.
