Hi, I dont' know y u asked a History question here :-) ?
  but I'm sure the answer should be 
                  vassal and knight  'cause  both of them were mutually attached to land lords and king in order for military support and mutual protection

Sry I have answered without understanding the question.  Bishop was the one with closer status to Pope
