Help!!!!!!!!!!!! Convert the following number into scientific notation. 1,000,000

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

hi, 1000, 000 = 1 x 1000 000 = 1 x 10^6

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

first you put a decimal point between the first two digits (1 and 0) to get 1.0 Then you must count how many spaces you must move that decimal point to go from 1.0 to 1,000,000 This is 6 spaces, so that's why the exponent is 6 and why 1,000,000 = 1.0 x 10^6 or just 1,000,000 = 1 x 10^6
