If a and b are even integers and c is an odd integer, which of the following would be an odd integer? a + b + c ab - bc a x b x c b x c c (a + b)

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Every even integer has a factor of 2. So if you can write the expression so that it has a factor of an even integer, then it has a factor of 2, and hence, it is even.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Eg., ab - bc = b(a-c) Since b is a factor of the expression, and b is even, 2 is a factor of b(a - c). Thus, this one is even and CANT be odd (since it is a multiple of 2).

thanks

ALL of those expressions are written, or can be written, so that they are multiples of the even numbers, except for 1.
