how do you find the factors in trinomials? example x^2-x-2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well start with finding the factors of the last term... -2 which factors add to the coefficient of the middle term -1 then you write the factors as (x + factor 1)(x + factor 2) in the general case... the signs are dependent upon your factors
