Things like the crusades contributed to the use of the coin. Also, the rise of the Roman Empire and the Byzantium Empire spread wealth across Europe, Asia, and Africa. It was heavily influenced through religious monarchies. The economy operated off of serfs, mainly, and they gave 10% of their earnings (or crops) to the King or overseer. The economy largely relied on crops. Trade and income was popular through Constantinople, where religious and wealth spread hastily.
