12-4/5(x+15)=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that 12 - (4/5)(x+15) = 4?

OpenStudy (mary.rojas):

Are you solving x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To start, distribute -4/5 to both x and 15.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok... well after you distribute you get 12-4/5x-12=4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you would combine like terms, or push together everything that can be pushed together, subtracting 12 from 12. Now you have -4/5x = 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide both sides by -4/5 and you come out with x=-5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the 4/5 isthrowing me off is throwing me off i did and got 4/5x) +60/5 do i cross cancel sorry but i am lost
