humoral immunity vs cell mediated immunity. isnt it humoral=B cell and cell mediated=T cell?

yes but only in a very general sense. both humoral and cell mediated also use helper T cells. so only b cells in humoral won't do anything without a helper T cell activating it. likewise cytotoxic t cells in cell mediated won't do anything without helper T cells.
