if there is a repeat in the first numbers, (the domain) then NO if the first numbers are all different, then YES

Help?! Is the relation a function?? {(14,15),(5,7),(3,10),(11,1),(5,8)} Yes or no??

OpenStudy (dobby1):

for this to be a function their must only be one y value for each x value

OpenStudy (dobby1):

which nomber on the point of a graph is the x value

OpenStudy (otonogold):

The first digits

OpenStudy (otonogold):

(x,y) ?

OpenStudy (dobby1):

GREAT

OpenStudy (dobby1):

now there can only one y value for each x value list the values please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the answer is NO for exactly the reason you stated you see a first number of 5 in two places

OpenStudy (dobby1):

exactly

OpenStudy (otonogold):

All the y values are different 15, 7, 10 , 1, and 8

OpenStudy (otonogold):

Ohhhh!

OpenStudy (dobby1):

the answer is no it is not a function because their are two y values for the x value 5

OpenStudy (dobby1):

Can i have a medal?
