Why would the density of air effect air resistance acting on an falling object?

Air resistance acts on the surface of a falling object. The denser the air, the greater the air resistance would be on the falling object. This is why objects fall slower in humid air. Hope that helped.

if a small piece of metal.. and put it in water.. it ll sink..but if u put it in ketchup.. it ll sink wayyy slower.. right?

There's also the buoyancy force, the more dense the air, the greater the buoyancy force on the object.
