I need step by step please! " differentiate" y=secxtanx I get to tanx(secxtanx) + sec^3x . the book states the answer is secx(sec^2x+tan^2x) . HELP :(

OpenStudy (phi):

I get to tanx(secxtanx) + sec^3x if you multiply tanx * tanx you get tan^2 x so you have secx tan^2 x + sec^3 x factor out secx from each term secx (tan^2 x + sec^2 x)
