-(-5+4m) Simplify. Okay so what if the negative is on the outside? does that just mean that its going to be negative?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Well it means that everything in the brackets will be negativized(lol) in the end. You might also want to look up distributive properties.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean, I know what the distributive property is.. But should I use it? Hahah. Ugh.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Well since there's nothing else you can do to it (i.e you can't add -5 to 4m) all you can simplify is the negative sign so yes, you should do it. It's the question hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My sister and I are debating this, IS IT POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

C

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Can I know why you consider a negative answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My sister considered it. She said that it's "Keep, change, flip." which is dumb. But she thinks because you took the reciprocal, that it's suppose to be negative.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

But you just solve the division... The only flipping you do is on 3/2 because the question can be rewritten as 7/4 X 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, and then you multiply straight across. xD
