OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

The label on the car's antifreeze container claims to protect the car between −30°C and 130°C. To convert Celsius temperature to Fahrenheit temperature, the formula is C = 5 over 9 (F − 32). Write and solve the inequality to determine the Fahrenheit temperature range at which this antifreeze protects the car.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

The options are −30 > 5 over 9 (F − 32) > 130; −22 > F > 266 −30 < 5 over 9 (F − 32) < 130; −22 < F < 266 −30 < 5 over 9 (F − 32); −22 < F 5 over 9 (F − 32) < 130; F < 266

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@Firejay5

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@savannaxx_

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Well... C - F = x1.8 + 32 F - C /1.8 - 32 That's the easier way to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really am not quite sure lol but i think the first one is the common sense answer, but i wouldnt listen to me if i were you lol

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. This is very hard. So I just solve those two equations @Firejay5

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

thanks to you too @savannaxx_

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Well -30 is less than -22 note that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok hold up, i change my mind, the first one is wrong lol

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Lol @savannaxx_

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Is this on a worksheet or something @kewlgeek555

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I go to virtual school which is actually easier, but now there is this new thing in all of Florida called Common Core and it messed up all of Education. Now everything is harder and the lessons don't explain, instead of ninth graders going to pre-algebra they go straight to Algebra I and math is the subject you work the most on, making it even more frustrating.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Are you trying to convert Celsius into Fahrenheit

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Nope. I know that. I am trying to see how to simplify this I think the options are above.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

No I am asking

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yeah, I am not trying to convert celcius to fahrenheit. I am trying to write and solve the inequality to determine the Fahrenheit temperature range at which this antifreeze protects the car.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

It think it's the 3rd option

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. Thanks. Are you good at inequalities?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

some what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im good at inequalities but yall r just giving me a headache

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay...is it okay if I put another question on here?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay, I am going to put another question @savannaxx_ and @Firejay5 A publisher claims that the average salary paid at its company is $37,500 but it could differ as much as $4500. Write and solve an absolute value inequality to determine the range of salaries at this company. |x − 37500| ≤ 4500; The salaries range from $33,000 to $42,000 |x − 37,500| ≤ 4500; The salaries are less than $33,000 or greater than $42,000. |x − 37500| ≥ 4500; The salaries range from $33,000 to $42,000 |x − 37,500| ≥ 4500; The salaries are less than $33,000 or greater than $42,000.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the first one, because it says it could differ from $4500 so just subtract that from $37,500 and then add $4500 to it :)

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Thanks. These are one of those tests where you get one question wrong and you get a 70 or 80.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hate those, im online school too

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I know, right! And now it is super common because of this new program in Florida. Uch.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

thanks though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol Im on connexus in flvs. it sucks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and no problem :)

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

WTH is connexus? Isn't connexus from connections acadamey?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I think it's the first one too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, its from florida virtual, it just started this year

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Wwll, I wish you good luck. This is my fourth year, but since I am in Orange County, Florida, I go to Orange County Virtual School which is like a branch from FLVS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont live very far from me lol. good luck to you too

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yay! Now I can stalk you! Lol, just kidding.
