A car rental company charges $290 per week plus $0.29 per mile to rent a car. How many miles can you travel in one week for $558.25? What equation you can I use to answer this question?

What equation can I use to answer this question?*

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the variable cost is $0.29 per mile... fixed cost is $290 so Cost = 0.29m +290 thats the equation... you need to use it and let C = $558.25

I got 925.10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

925.1034 is actually the answer I got but idk where to round it up

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

I'm not sure how you got the 0.1 but 925 miles seems to be the correct answer

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the calculation is \[\frac{558.25 - 290}{0.29} = \]

Ok, I totally got it now. Wow thank you so much for the help!
