If trapezoid T'U'V'W' represents trapezoid TUVW reflected over the y-axis, the ordered pair of W' is ___________. (Note: You must include parentheses, a comma, and a space after the comma when typing the ordered pair.)

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Think about what a reflection over the y-axis would do to a point: the y coordinate won't change, and the x-coordinate will be the negative of what it was. So each point (a, b) goes to the point (-a, b) E.g., if I reflect the point (-3, 5) over the y axis, I get the point (3, 5). Now apply that to your trapezoid.

Start by finding the coordinates of U in the given graph

OpenStudy (debbieg):

@ganeshie8 am I missing something in this problem? Why are the coordinates of U needed? It's only asking about W, so I think that's the only ordered pair that is needed....?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it was a typo / misread sorry it should be :- Start by finding the coordinates of W in the given graph

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Oh, ok.... that makes more sense... lol :)
