factorize 4 x^3+2 x-6

OpenStudy (yttrium):

you can factor out 2 first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 (x-1) (2 x^2+2 x+3) this is the ans i dont know the steps

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Yes. That is actually the answer. I am not sure if there is a shortcut here but you can apply synthetic division to factor this out. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's that

OpenStudy (yttrium):

It's one type of division technique in solving for quotient of a polynomial. Don't you have any idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

none at all

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Do you know long division?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (yttrium):

they're almost the same. you can actually apply long division to factor that out by doing intelligent guess of what should be divided.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i guess i can write no steps in between
