its finding the total of rooms on the ships and the total they give is 629...  the Caribbean ship has 31 more rooms than the Pacific, the Mediterranean has 34 fewer than twice the number of Pacific

I hate these questions.  :3
Lets see.  The Caribbean Ship has 31 MORE rooms than the pacific.  The Mediterranean has 34 FEWER than *2 the number of the pacific.

So, to solve for the Caribbean would be p + 31 = c, where p is the number of rooms in the Pacific ship, and c is the number of rooms in the Caribbean ship.

Now, to solve for the Mediterranean would be m = (p * 2) - 34, where p is the number of rooms in the pacific ship and m is the number of rooms in the Mediterranean ship.

That is what I would do too.  Then I know that one of them is that number, and the other one is something less than that number.
