Evelyn has $524.96 in her checking account. She must maintain a $500 balance to avoid a fee. She wrote a check for $32.50 today. Write and solve an inequality to solve for the least amount of money she needs to deposit to avoid a fee. 524.96 − 32.50 + x ≥ 500; x ≥ $7.54 524.96 − 32.50 + x ≤ 500; x ≤ $7.54 524.96 + 32.50 − x ≥ 500; x ≥ $57.46 524.96 + 32.50 − x ≤ 500; x ≤ $57.46

I believe it's the first choice.

Well she has 542.96 and she loses 32.5.. So right there we can elimante the bottom two And we are trying to find a number x to add to make sure she is at or ABOVE 500. Which is that one? Its the first one.. Because you want the side with x (her money and spending) to be above 500 bucks to not have a fee. I hope this makes sense!
