a narrative is an account, report, or story, as of events, experiences, etc.
As in If you are right a story that story would be a narritive, if you are reading an essay that is a narrative. In english a narritive is any kind of essay or any kind of story whether fiction or none fiction

you can but you would have to write it to where your audience wont lose focus or interest

and that is pretty hard to do if the audience is just not into shows like that, I suggest you should write a narrative about your life and personal experiences

or you could write a narrative of what you read from a short story if you really wanna make it simple
