you could try zoom fit and see if the calculator can't figure out the proper window on its own
OpenStudy (anonymous):
It doesn't
OpenStudy (anonymous):
don't know what y min or ymax or x man or min scales to use
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
try
xmin = -10
xmax = 10
ymin = -40
ymax = 120

I don't want the answer I want to know how and why to use that setting??/??

well I started off with the standard -10, 10 for both
then I stretched out the y interval and kept the x-interval the same
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
it was just trial and error really

plus those swttings wouldn't work I tried and I can not see the extremas.
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
I can see the extremas
this is what I get
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
and that's using the window of
xmin = -10
xmax = 10
ymin = -40
ymax = 120
