Factor the trinomial 30s^2-19s-63

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a trial and error type of thing really. Look at the factors of 30 and 63. Notice that the second and third terms are negative. The third term being negative implies that the factors will be of the form ( x+ )( x- ). Now you know that the coefficients of x multiplied together will be 30 and you know that the root part of the factor will be factors of 63. With that information you just have to try some numbers and make sensible guesses. Since the numbers are semi-large there are a lot of factors but you can eliminate several knowing that added together they will be -19 (aka you can eliminate factors like 63 in all likelihood).

Sorry I used x instead of s. Same difference though.
