Please explain to me why my maths is wrong here Find Q log(Q)-log(Q/(Q+1))=0.8 log(Q/(Q/Q+1))=0.8 log(Q+1)=0.8 10^0.8=Q+1 Q=5.309

nothing wrong here

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

yup, wolfram gives the same answer http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=log%28Q%29-log%28Q%2F%28Q%2B1%29%29%3D0.8&a=*FunClash.log-_*Log10-

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

btw, its assumed that log = log_10

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

and you dont mean log_e = ln

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats odd becaus when I put it into wolfram then it gives me 1.22

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

lol i got 1.22 aswell, then i noticed that wolfram used natural logarthm (base e) I had to change it to base 10 here is wat u wud have seen :- http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=log%28Q%29-log%28Q%2F%28Q%2B1%29%29%3D0.8&a=*FunClash.log-_*Log-
