Please suggest some good books to improve writing skills?

I found most comic books to be an aid with my writing technique as well as old poems (I.E. Emily wingspaninson, Sylvia PLath, etc.)

The Great Gatsby is a good book, that includes many literary devices and symbols. There's also a lot of critical reviews on it, so that after reading you can look in on what others have to say about Fitzgerald's writing style.

There's a book called "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. His writing style is very interesting in this. The book is also quite morbid at parts.
