Identify outlier in following list. Then find mean/median of list with/without outlier. 10, 4, 20, 5, 11, 150, 7 a.Outlier = 10 Mean with outlier = 29.6 Median with outlier = 10 Mean without outlier = 44.1 Median without outlier = 10.5 b.Outlier = 10 Mean with outlier = 10 Median with outlier = 29.6 Mean without outlier = 8.5 Median without outlier = 9.5 c.Outlier = 150 Mean with outlier = 9.5 Median with outlier = 8.5 Mean without outlier = 29.6 Median without outlier = 10 d.Outlier = 150 Mean with outlier = 29.6 Median with outlier = 10 Mean without outlier = 9.5 Median without outlier = 8.5

Which one do you think is the outlier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, it's C or D. Median is easiest to figure out of the remaining things. C says the median without outlier = 10. D says median without outlier = 8.5. Do you know how to find the median? What do you do first to find the median?

Put Them In Order..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 5 7 10 11 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dont You Add 7 And 10 Now...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Add 7 and 10 and divide what you get by 2....(to average them)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8.5.!! :)
