Can someone please show me step by step how to work this? -4 (r+6)= -63

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

first you want to get rid of the -4, what will you have to do to get rid of it?

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

hint: you would want to do the opposite of -4(r+6) if the -4 is being multiplied, then what would be the opposite of multiplying?

OpenStudy (praxer):

\[r= (63/4) - 6 = 9.75\]

OpenStudy (praxer):

follow the steps given above and match with the result in the later part.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I need to divide by 4 to get rid of the -4

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

yep, by -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on both sides?

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it gets rid of the -4 and leaves (r+6) = 15.75 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@littlenugget when you are done here, do you think you can help me with my question please?

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

@kmp96 yep :) and now you'd have to get rid of the 6 so what would you do?

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

@ebonyninja sure i'll try :) can you send me the link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 6?

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

yes!!!

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

so you would get _____

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that's my answer?!

OpenStudy (littlenugget):

yep, and that'll be your answer :)
