There are a total of 15 cats and dogs at a kennel. If there are 7 cats, which ratio represents the number of cats to the number of dogs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats 15-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15 is the number of cats and dogs put together and 7 is the amount of cats

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello u there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so if you subtract 7 from fifteen you'd get the number of dogs, and from there you can get the ratio of cats to dogs. so if c= cats and d= dogs than the ratio would be c:d, or 7:(15-7)
