Find the x- and y- intercept (1) 2x+5y=-10 (2) 2x-6y=24

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

I'LL GIVE YOU A COMMON METHOD FOR BOTH To find the y intercept put the value of x as 0 in the equation. To find the x intercept put the value of y as 0 in the equation. Understood? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first question ,this is what I got (5,0),(0,-2) Am I right

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

It is actually (-5,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and what about (0,-2) will now be (0,2)

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I will keep figuring out or if you can figure it out for me then I will know what to do whenever U come accross

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got this answer on the second question :x intercept : y=0 2x=24 <=> x = 12 => (12,0) y intercept : x=0 -6x=24 <=> y = -4 => (0,-4)

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Correct! :)
