To store strawberries in sugar syrup, Lucy placed them in a jar and covered them with sugar but did not add any water. Do you think syrup will be formed? Justify.

By covering strawberries in sugar it causes osmosis, where water moves out of the strawberries because there is higher concentrations of sugar outside of the strawberry. I'm not sure what you mean by syrup, but this will leave the strawberries really sweet (less water iin them) and they will be sitting in a pool of sugar and water :)
