After Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974, his vice-president, Gerald Ford was sworn in as president. What unusual fact about Ford is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this multiple choice ? If so, what are the choices ?

OpenStudy (nurali):

i think He was never elected vice-president. Nixon appointed Ford Vice-President after Spiro Agnew -- who was actually elected with Nixon in 1972 -- resigned in 1973 after being indicted on a variety of bribery charges. Since Ford lost the election of 1976, to Carter, he is distinguished as being the only American President to have been elected to neither the office of President nor Vice-President.
