explain why fsh does not bind to a lh receptor

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

every receptor is signalling molecule specific...so lh receptor would bind to lh only and not follicle stimulating hormone. dis is what i think....but i m trying to search between d structural differences which avoid dis unusual bindin

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

the receptor of these 2 molecules are very very same...both gpcr both acivate cAMP pathway...the difference is just the size....maybe this causes the specificity....

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

am i near 2 what u want?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the answer thxx for the help

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

could u share it here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because LH is not complimentary to FSH as Fsh has a shorter B-chain compared to Lh. Fsh has different primary structure and tertiary structure.

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Cool! Thnx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r welcome :)
