Positive feedback loops make reactions "exaggerated" to occur more. Negitive Feedback loops can completely stop the reactions. Examples of negative: Competitive and noncompetitive inhibition. a different subtrate binds to the active or allosteric site to stop enzymes from creating more product. This is important for homeostasis to maintain the number of molecules that are synthesized. Example: when glucose levels drop, the cells need to slow the production of insulin so they will used a negative feed back loop to stop the production and vice versa. hope this helps
