how are dna and mrna alike?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

both are made up of nucleotides ie have sugar phosphate group and a base.. play imp role in protein synthesis. ie dna transcribed to mrna and then mrna translated 2 form proteins. have purines and pyrimidines. ACG are common bases. both are nucleic acids.both have 5' and 3' ends.

main reason of having difference in sugar as dna is made of deoxyribose sugar whee as mrna is made of ribose sugar
