how sin^2(2x) + cos^2(2x) = 1 ?

OpenStudy (dls):

Try evaluating at any angle,30,45,60,90.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Its an identity. sin^2 x+cos^2 x=1 x can be anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i asked sin^2(2x) not sin^2x .

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Its an identity means it holds for x,2x,3x or anything!

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Exactly! 2x is the angle and it does not matter what value it is ! The identity is valid for ALL ANGLES Provided: sin and cosine have got the same angles!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both : )

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

:)
